Effect Of Diet For Male Fertility

Diet A healthy, apparently not only functions to prevent various diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, but also affects the reproductive health or fertility levels. Recent studies from the University of Murcia, Spain, presents, men who ate more healthy foods also have more healthy sperm.
“Healthy and balanced diet is not only important to prevent diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, or high cholesterol, but also serves to improve reproductive health,” said Mendiola, study leader, quoted by foxnews site.
According to Mendiola, many studies have suggested a link between consumption of certain nutrients with male fertility. Previous studies to find out the relationship between the consumption of some specific makana and semen quality. These studies found that men who eat dairy products and more meat and less lettuce, tomato, and fruit, has a low-quality cement.
Research-epenilian earlier, does not check the specific nutrients. But in this study, light Mendiola, his team compared the dietary content of nutrients in 30 men with low semen quality of 31 men who had normal sperm. All participants alike had come to fertility clinics.
Men with low semen quality have low sperm counts and generally a little percentage of abnormally shaped sperm more. All participants were asked to provide at least two samples of sperm.
The study found, even after controlling other factors such as smoking, age, body mass index, and exposure to toxic chemicals at the workplace, the researchers found that the diet remains a crucial factor. Men with normal semen eating more carbohydrates, fiber, folate, vitamin C and lycopene compared with those with low semen quality. Men with semen quality is also eating healthier and less fat and protein.
“Low levels of antioxidant nutrients in the diet also seems to adversely affect semen quality,” said Mendiola. And a healthy diet, he explained, is one important factor determining the quality of sperm. (MI)
